New online casino to open in Sealand
August 09, 2007 - Sven Sorenson

The recent US online gambling legislation has certainly upset the gambling world. In a move to circumvent this legisation, a "virtual" nation is preparing to open an online casino. The virtual nation, known as "Sealand", is based on an abandoned military platform in the North Sea and is located in international waters. The sea fort was occupied by Major Paddy Bates in 1967 and has made the news on several occasions in the past, for example when printing its own stamps and currency or when being considered as a potential home for MP3 fugitive Pirate Bay, after they had been expelled from Sweden.
The Sealand casino is set to open on 2 September - the 40th anniversary of Bates' move to the platform.
In the meantime, check out our casino offers if you are up for a game of blackjack.
