UltimateBet, an online gambling site with a focus on poker, offers regular single-player blackjack (including a strategy card which helps you decide on the right move) as well as elimination blackjack. For all who are interested in a bit more excitement, here is what makes elimination blackjack so special:
- You play each hand against the dealer, but you are also trying to accumulate the largest amount of chips along the way
- The player with the least amount of chips after hands 8, 16 and 25 is eliminated
- Each player has one Secret Bet per round, allowing him to bet a certain amount of chips without letting the other players know what his bet is. This introduces an element of bluffing not found in other versions of blackjack
- There is also a lot of money at stake: For each round before the final round, each player receives $25,000 in tournament chips (this is also the maximum bet). The minimum bet in the preliminary round is $500. At the final table, you'll start with $100,000 in tournament chips (this is also the maximum bet). The minimum bet at the final table is $1,000
- Each scheduled elimination tournament will consist of a minimum of two rounds depending on the number of participants. All tournament rounds, including the finals, will consist of six or seven players at a table depending on the number entrants

However, UltimateBet does not allow you to play for play money – it's either real money or nothing. The only access to the game is via downloading the poker software – however, that also makes it easy for poker players to switch between poker and blackjack. Even the same chips can be used.
